A poem for Justin and Bridget on their wedding day

A poem written and read by mother Angela at Chelsea Registry Office at my wedding to Bridget in 2004.

For Justin and Bridget on their wedding day

At this time of white roses, elderflowers
and ox-eyed daisies, London
is dressed overall with blossom
for Justin and Bridget, on a June day
when we gather to see the sailing boy
from Redcliffe Road and the running girl
from Upper Dicker come together,
most surely blessed by those who  loved them,
and before us who love them now.
Who would not love this tawny girl
glowing in scarlet and gold,
this kind and funny man?
Now in midsummer we salute them
